Wycombe Winter Night Shelter Christian Trust (WWNS)
is a registered charity based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The charity was established in 2007 to provide shelter and support to those who find themselves homeless during the winter months of the year. Operating between January and March the charity manages seven teams of volunteers at seven different venues for seven nights a week, which collectively provide the one resource which is Wycombe Winter Night Shelter. Each night of the shelter guests receive a hot evening meal, a bed for the night and a cooked breakfast in the morning. As well as providing for the most basic of needs that many of us take for granted there also comes conversation, friendship and the offer of support to begin help solve the problems faced by our guests.
Moving on into their own accommodation however is only part of the answer. For many it can be a time of isolation, loneliness and depression as someone tries to adapt to a different lifestyle, often after years of sleeping rough. WWNS now runs year round drop-ins and a support service for people re-housed during the shelter or those who are made homeless when the shelter is not running.

In this short video, a Winter 2008 guest talks about the Night Shelter.
- "Many of them don't have a drug or alcohol problem, they've just ended up on the streets because of a breakdown in a relationship, a job or finances."
- "We can give homeless people the simplest help like giving them access to a phone, help filling in forms or accompanying them to a service for moral support. We will learn more about what people need as we go along. It will evolve and grow organically."
